2 out of 3 parents worried about ads in apps for kids, survey says
In a recent Google Consumer survey of 200 US parents and grandparents, 66% respond that they are worried about advertisement in apps for kids. The survey was conducted by 100 Things – an app company developing photobook apps for small children.
Many app-developers have business models that rely on supplying free apps for kids and parents with 3rd party advertising in place. The survey clearly show the uneasiness parents and grandparents have exposing the young minds for this behaviour.
